Shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Help

An outstanding viewpoint over the Tagus valley.
The shrine and its surroundings
The shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is located about six kilometres from the village, in the middle of a landscape of dense forests and open hillsides, overlooking the depression of the Tagus River, and is cradled in the reservoir of Bolarque and the imposing Anguix Castle rock. As well as its devotional and historical value, this enclave is an extraordinary viewpoint for Tagus valley. On the road leading up to it, you can marvel at the grandeur of the Alcarria that channels the waters of the Tagus and the Guadiela into the large reservoirs of Entrepeñas and Buendía.
History
In 1613 a hunter known as Don Domingo López Heredia, ordered it to be built, after being attacked by a large snake when he was in the hills around where the shrine is now. Fearing death, he appealed to the Our Lady for help and his life was saved.
